My medical journey began with a BSc in Medical Biochemistry at Cardiff University in 1994 involving research into the causes of Rheumatoid Arthritis, followed by my medical degree at the University of Wales College of Medicine. I completed my anaesthesia training at Imperial and UCL Hospitals, with my paediatric specialisation at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

 

Since 2009, I have been working as a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, caring for babies, children and teenagers who require burns, orthopaedic, cancer or urology surgery.

 

I have pioneered pre-operative assessment services for children setting up one of the UK’s first pre-operative services for children, improving patient outcomes and reducing patients cancellations. I’m committed to advancing patient safety and care innovation.
