I am consultant cardiologist specialising in heart rhythm disturbances. I have previously worked in France where I had thorough training in electrophysiology, in particular atrial fibrillation (AF). I am involved with research and training to continue improvements in the understanding of cardiac rhythm disturbances. I graduated from the University of London in 2000 and completed my training in cardiology and became a consultant in 2011. Following my training I pursued my interest in the electrical functions of the heart, termed cardiac electrophysiology. I spent two years at the world-renowned arrhythmia centre in Bordeaux, with Prof. Haissaguerre, Jais and Hocini where I fine-tuned my understanding of arrhythmias. My specialist areas include rhythm disturbances of the heart and their treatments including radiofrequency ablation. This includes AF, SVT, VTs and sudden cardiac death. I also insert various forms of pacemakers and implantable defibrillators for rhythm disturbances including re-synchronisation devices for heart failure patients. I have published over 100 scientific papers and books and is regularly asked to speak at major international meetings. I regularly perform 'live' AF ablation cases to teach European electrophysiologists. I've been awarded The Sir Thomas Lewis Cardiology Prize.
