In October 2012 Dr Fiona Reynolds was visiting Pakistan to help advise on the intensive care aspects of liver transplantation but in the process found herself central to the care of Malala Yousafzai.

Dr Reynolds shares her memories of 2012 as well helping run one the Uks largest Children’s Hospital – Birmingham Children’s hospital as its Medical director.
