Medstars in their Eyes | Mr Michael Kuo
Medstars met with expert ENT surgeon Michael Kuo and we were lucky enough to watch him perform coblation at his Birmingham practice. Coblation is a form of tonsillectomy that uses a saline jet to gently dissolve tonsil tissue and remove the infected or enlarged tonsils.
The operation took just over 30 minutes and watching Michael at work, it was clear he has years of experience and countless operations under his belt; most notable was how at ease Michael’s colleagues and patients appeared in his presence.
In between operations, we managed to find out more about the man himself and aside from his obvious medical expertise it turns out he’s a pretty big Spider-Man fan.
