I attended one of the top medical schools in India; the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, and graduated with high merit. Following my graduation, I moved to the United Kingdom for surgical training. I then obtained Membership of the Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I obtained a post-doctoral qualification from research performed at University of Oxford. Following my doctoral research at Oxford University, I completed the All Wales Higher Surgical Training Programme. I have done fellowships at world-renowned centres of excellence: I was a Senior Laparoscopic Fellow at ICENI Centre, Colchester. Following this I spent a year at the St James University Hospital, Leeds. I then completed the much sought after Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton. I have been humbled to receive a number of awards. In particular, the prestigious David Dunn Travelling Scholarship for 2013, I was awarded by ALSGBI. I travelled to Japan and India to visit some of the leading surgeons in the world and have learnt a number of innovative techniques, which I practice while treating patients in the UK. I specialise in treatment of hernias, gallstones, heartburn, cancer of oesophagus (gullet) and stomach and weight loss surgery. I also specialise in a number of novel endoscopic techniques to treat early cancer and pre-cancerous conditions.
