Mr Nigel Mendoza is an outstanding neurosurgeon with a humane, conservative approach, combined with rigorous surgical experience in operating upon degenerative back problems, complex spinal conditions and base of skull surgery. He has particular expertise in the management of pituitary tumours and other brain tumours, having operated on over 500 pituitary tumours alone.

I have over 20 years experience as an NHS Consultant Neurosurgeon working at Neurosciences Unit in Charing Cross Hospital, London. I having been Chief of Service for 5 years. I have gained a wide clinical and operative experience in neurosurgery, both cranial and spinal. This has included: the management of common problems caused by degenerative conditions of the spine, such as back pain, and symptomatic intervertebral disc protrusion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine as well as more complex spinal surgery for trauma , spinal tumours, and rheumatoid arthritis. My particular area of subspecialist interest and expertise is skull base surgery. I care for patients with different problems, the most common being trigeminal neuralgia, pituitary tumours, acoustic neuroma and meningioma. The team is interdisciplinary, undertaking evolving techniques of endoscopic approaches and intraoperative neuronavigation. My experience has also afforded me a wide clinical and operative experience in neurosurgery, both cranial and spinal. I also enjoy skiing and driving classic sports cars. I am particularly proud of completing a leg of the London to Sydney Friendship Rally from Lahore to Bangkok in a Bentley.
