I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist working in Chelmsford since 2009. I began practising at Broomfield Hospital where I was the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Lead and the Lead for Endoscopy Training. I now provide a Gastroenterology service in the Springfield Hospital in Chelmsford, where I am also the only female colonoscopist. I have now started practising at Oaks Hospital in Colchester and Spire Hospital in Hartswood. I graduated in Medicine from the University of Kolkata in 1997 and completed my Specialist Training in the University Hospitals of Leicester, qualifying in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in 2009. I researched the effects of Inflammatory Bowel Disease on bone metabolism and was awarded a Masters in Health Services Research by Nottingham University in 2006. I have completed a post-graduate certificate in allergy and wish to incorporate this in my practice. I have developed an expertise in functional disorders of the gut including irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation, dyspepsia, chronic diarrhoea and bloating. Communication and patient choice are key in my practice. I strongly believe that a good doctor-patient relationship leads to the best outcomes.
