I qualified in 1990 from Girton College, Cambridge University and King's College Hospital London. I trained as a gastroenterologist in the North West Thames. I was appointed as consultant in gastroenterology and general internal medicine in 2002 and moved to Charing Cross Hospital in 2006. My research in investigating novel methods for colorectal cancer screening has led to my award of an MD for research. My interest in screening for colorectal cancer led to me leading the West London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre, based at Charing Cross where I am director. I perform advanced polypectomy as well as teaching colonoscopy both within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and also at National screening centres. In my private practice I treat patients with all gastroenterology compaints and have specialist interest in bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease IBD.
